Where is Plas Weunydd?

We’re in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), just outside Blaenau Ffestiniog. Close enough to the mountains for an early start, Far enough for peace and quiet.

  • Ffestiniog Railway | Hop on one of the world’s oldest narrow-gauge steam railways and enjoy a scenic ride through Eryri Snowdonia’s stunning landscapes. With multiple routes including Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog. Dogs are also welcome on the train!

  • Portmeirion | Explore the quirky, colourful, Italian-style architecture of Portmeirion. You'll find a quirky blend of art, architecture, and stunning nature. Stroll the whimsical streets, grab a bite to eat at one of the cafes, or stock up on your Portmeirion pottery. Then explore the gardens and soak up stunning estuary views, all just a short drive from Plas Weunydd. Please note that no dogs are allowed in Portmeirion.

  • Antur ‘Stiniog | Mountain biking trails set in the stunning mountains of North Wales. For all levels of ability, featuring green to black graded trails. Featuring the best mountain bike uplift service in the UK, some even say in the world! Steps away from Plas Weunydd.

  • Porthmadog | Explore the harbour town of Porthmadog. Stroll the high street filled with shops, restaurants, cafes and lovely pubs. Have a look at the historic steam railway. Not far from Porthmadog you'll also find the coastal town of Borth y Gest where you can go for a stunning beach walk.

  • Harlech Castle | Perched high above the beach with amazing views of Eryri (Snowdonia). It’s dramatic, historic, and perfect for exploring. Leave some time to wander the high street with its quirky independent shops, cafes and antiques.

We absolutely loved our one-night stay in Plas Weunydd. The location was perfect for us to go out and explore Snowdonia. The room was clean and everyone working there was incredibly friendly and kind. Comfy bed, great shower, and delicious hash browns at breakfast! We also had a lovely dinner outside with views of the peaks.
