We are a dog-friendly accommodation. The fee for bringing a dog is £20 to cover the extra cleaning charges. Barlwyd Off-Grid Glamping is on sheep-grazing land, therefore dogs must be on a lead at all times.

Some of our Super King beds can be split into twin beds. Please give us advance notice during booking if you require twin beds to make sure your beds are ready for you when you arrive.

Check in for all accommodation is at reception in Plas Weunydd Hotel.

Self-check ins are available at both Llechwedd Glamping & Barlwyd Huts if arriving after 5pm. Please let reception know if you plan to arrive after 5pm.

BBQs at Llechwedd Glamping take charcoal, which can be purchased during booking, or in advance via reception.

Barwlyd Glamping has Gas BBQ’s. Under no condition can charcoal be used. Please contact the team if additional gas is required.

Please do not use disposable bbqs on the decking or indoors.

You’ll have a welcome bundle of logs in your accommodation on arrival. Additional logs can be purchased in advance with the reception team or online at the point of booking.

The stoves are not suitable for coal.

Before You Start

• This method works for the stoves in Llechwedd Glamping, the Barlwyd Huts, and the Barlwyd Wilderness Sauna.

• Firelighters, matches, and your first bundle of logs will ready for you to use in your accommodation.

• You can add extra logs to your booking via our pre-arrival extras, or simply buy more by calling reception. If you prefer to bring your own wood, keep in mind that the stoves are quite compact. You will need smaller logs. Long-burn wood briquettes are also a great option.

Build the Fire

• Place one or two firelighters in the centre of the empty stove with the wood shavings.

• Arrange your kindling (the small sticks) in a teepee shape around the firelighters. Make sure to leave some gaps so air can flow through easily.

• Add two to four small logs. You can continue the teepee shape, crisscross them, or place them in front of and behind the kindling.

Light the Fire

• Light the firelighters at the bottom.

• Leave the stove door slightly ajar at first. This lets air pull through to help the kindling catch fire.

• Let it burn like this for a few minutes until you have a strong, bright base of flames, and then you can fully close the stove door.

Maintain The Fire

• Wait until those first small logs are burning well before adding anything else.

• Gradually add your larger logs one at a time as the fire builds.

• Keep an eye on the flames and simply add another log whenever the fire starts to die down to keep your space warm and cosy.

Zip World Llechwedd is on the same site as us and within easy walking distance.

We highly recommend using the Sherpa Bus as parking at trail heads is limited.

• Pen y Pass (Pyg Track and Miners' Track): 22 miles, 35 to 45 minutes

• Llanberis (Llanberis Path): 28 miles, 45 to 50 minutes

• Pont Bethania, Nant Gwynant (Watkin Path): 16 miles, 25 to 30 minutes

• Rhyd Ddu (Rhyd Ddu Path): 17 miles, 30 minutes

• Llyn Cwellyn (Snowdon Ranger Path): 19 miles, 35 minutes

A tip for Pen y Pass Parking

Parking must be pre-booked via the JustPark app or website. Spaces are limited and sell out fast and prices start at £25 for 8 hours. If the car park is full, you can use the Nant Peris Park and Ride and catch the Sherpa'r Wyddfa bus up to the trailhead.

We provide all bedding and towels.

There is a train station located in Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is approximately a 30-minute walk or a 5-minute drive away from Plas Weunydd / Llechwedd Glamping. We suggest using Trainline for train bookings. In case you require a taxi, please let reception know and we will be happy to book one for you. Alternatively, you could visit Traveline to check the bus timings from the station to the accommodation.
